Community service benefits everyone involved by fostering a sense of shared responsibility and connection. Volunteers gain a deeper understanding of the challenges others face, while those receiving help enjoy improved resources and support. It builds stronger communities, enhances social bonds, and encourages empathy and collaboration. By contributing to the greater good, individuals not only make a positive impact on others, but also experience personal growth, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose. Ultimately, community service creates a cycle of giving and receiving that strengthens both the individual and society as a whole. If joining in person isn't always possible, you can still contribute meaningfully through our Online Community Service, which makes it easy to volunteer remotely while staying connected to the mission.

The Grand Central Food Program is also looking for volunteer drivers from 6:45pm until roughly 9:30pm. The route begins and ends at St. Bartholomew’s Church on 51st Street. This opportunity requires that you commit to joining us consistently.
How can you help?
Our Grand Central Food Program is the largest nightly mobile soup kitchen in the country delivering roughly 1,000 meals every night of the year at 22 stops around New York. We take up to 6 volunteers to join us at our first stop at St. Bartholomew’s Church from 4:30pm to help us set up and serve meals until 6:30pm Monday through Friday.
